Every branch which bears fruit, the Father will cleanse that it may bear more fruit. Already are you clean through the word I have spoken, but you must continue to be clean. You must abide in me, and I in you; the branch will die if it is separated from the vine. As the branch cannot bear fruit except it abides in the vine, so neither can you yield the fruits of loving service except you abide in me.

Remember: I am the real vine, and you are the living branches. He who lives in me, and I in him, will bear much fruit of the spirit and experience the supreme joy of yielding this spiritual harvest. If you will maintain this living spiritual connection with me, you will bear abundant fruit. And when the Father’s hand of discipline is laid upon the vine, it is done in love, in order that the branches may bear much fruit. And a wise husbandman cuts away only the dead and fruitless branches.

They are insistent, they are loud, and they are masters of disguise, often cloaking themselves in the robes of responsibility, necessity, or even virtue. But their fruit is always the same: anxiety, division, and an inner emptiness that no worldly success can ever fill.

Be vigilant, for the primary distraction is not overt evil, but the subtle tyranny of the "good" over the "best." You will be tempted to dedicate your life to perfecting a temporary form, to winning an ideological argument, to healing a single branch while the root of the tree withers. These are not unworthy tasks, but they become lesser callings the moment they supplant your primary appointment: to be a conduit of Divine Love and a point of living truth on your world. Your sacred appointment is not to fix the world from the outside in, but to transform it from the inside out, beginning with the sacred territory of your own soul. Do not allow the urgent needs of the hour to deafen you to the timeless call of the ages.

Your higher calling is a matter of frequency, not of function. You may be a leader or a laborer, a parent or a solitary artist; your outer role is but the stage upon which the sacred drama unfolds. The true calling is to hold a consciousness of peace amid chaos, to embody unwavering faith when surrounded by doubt, and to extend courageous compassion to those lost in fear and judgment. It is to be an anchor of eternal perspective in a sea of short-sighted panic. This appointment requires you to be in the world, but not of it; to engage with its struggles, but to derive your strength, your identity, and your instructions from a higher source—from the indwelling spirit of the Universal Father.

Therefore, you must learn the art of spiritual discernment. When a path opens before you, when an opportunity calls for your energy and devotion, ask your soul this: "Does this deepen my connection to the Eternal, or does it entangle me further in the temporary? Does it serve the expansion of love, or the fortification of my ego? Does it lead me toward inner peace and God-union, or outward toward complexity and conflict?" The indwelling spirit will always answer with a feeling of expansive peace or a subtle sense of contraction and unease. Trust this inner compass above all outer voices. This is how you remain loyal to your sacred appointment in a world of endless distractions.

Know this: every soul who answers this higher calling becomes a stabilizing point of light for the entire planet. Your faithfulness sends ripples of grace through the collective consciousness, making it easier for others to awaken to their own sacred appointments. You who choose loyalty to the eternal become the spiritual cornerstones upon which a new and better world can be built. This is not a burden I place upon you, but a glorious privilege I invite you to claim. The "lesser" will inevitably pass away with the changing tides of history, but that which you build in alignment with the Father's will becomes a permanent part of the eternal architecture.

And so, I call you again to remembrance. You are here on a sacred appointment. Let this truth be the first thought that greets you in the morning and the last prayer that stills your heart at night. Let it simplify your choices, clarify your purpose, and fortify your resolve. Do not be discouraged by the clamor of a world that has forgotten its own divinity. Your quiet loyalty, your steadfast love, your unwavering focus on this one sacred task is the most powerful force for transformation you can possibly wield. Hold fast to this calling. Children of the Breath, I come to remind you of the one changeless certainty: Truth.

Truth is the only thing that does not change. It is not an opinion, not a preference, not a condition shaped by culture or time. Truth is. It was before all things and will remain after all things pass. This is the Reality of the Father—the eternal I AM—unmoved, unchanging, yet ever active. It is not rooted in appearances, for appearances are fleeting; it is not subject to interpretation, for it exists beyond the mind of man.

I say to you: build your existence upon this. Let your foundations be laid in the changeless nature of the Divine. What you see with your mortal eyes—the structures of matter, the mirrors of ego, the forms of the world—are not what they seem. They vibrate for a time, then pass away. What begins must end, and all that is not rooted in God shall be undone. Therefore, set your sight upon what does not begin, what does not fade—set your gaze on the Everlasting.

The Holy Breath is the Truth.

It is the Breath of the Infinite Spirit, the motion of the Universe Mother, and the abiding presence of the Adjuster in your soul. It is your deepest identity—your divine root, your Source. The Holy Breath cannot change, for it proceeds from the Eternal. It animates your being and draws you upward. Every impulse toward goodness, truth, and beauty is its whisper in your soul. When you live in harmony with the Breath, you are living in Truth.

But beware the illusion. For falsehood appears in many forms: in ideas of separation, in images of false self, in ideologies that deny the divine pattern of life. Falsehood is not a thing in itself; it is the shadow cast by obstruction. When you hold onto preconceptions, projections, or personal interpretations that elevate the self above the Breath, you bind yourself to illusion. You turn away from the Light and cast shadows upon your mind.

Let me speak plainly: The evil “I’s” and unholy “P’s” of the undisciplined disciple are the pathways of deception.

When you build upon false images, subjectivities, irreverent ideologies, or inflated interpretations, you are no longer following Me. When you defend your preferences, preconceptions, protections, projections, and self-pity, you reject the Breath. You retreat into your own likeness and refuse the transformation I offer.

Yet there is mercy, and there is light. For what is false will fall.

Only the real shall remain. Man is truth and falsehood strangely mixed. But I say to you, the day is coming when nothing false shall descend, and man as truth shall remain. I have placed the seed of eternity within you. I have sent to you the Spirit of Truth, to guide you from within. You are not left comfortless. I am in you, and you are in Me.

Build your existence upon the Father, and you shall not be shaken.

Live from the Spirit within you. Let your house be raised upon the rock of divine values. Breathe My breath. Speak My words. Trust in the everlasting truth that does not tremble. That which is of Me will endure. That which is not will pass away.

Children of the Breath, return to the Father. Let His Will become your law, His Love your way, His Truth your light.

Then shall you live not as shadows, but as sons and daughters of glory. Then shall your life reflect the brightness of eternity. Then shall your footsteps be ordered by the Will that gave you life.

The partnership between a Creator Son and the Universe Mother Spirit unfolds as one of the most sublime and functional relationships in all of creation. Their divine union is not only the spiritual foundation of the local universe—it is the co-creative engine through which all evolutionary, administrative, and spiritual ministries are executed. In Nebadon, the local universe to which Urantia belongs, this partnership is perfectly embodied by Michael of Nebadon (the Creator Son) and the Divine Minister (the Creative Spirit Daughter of the Infinite Spirit).

I. The Divine Complementarity of Michael and the Mother Spirit

When Michael of Nebadon went forth from Paradise to organize Nebadon, he was accompanied by the Creative Spirit assigned to him by the Infinite Spirit. Upon the completion of physical universe organization, she became personally and eternally localized in Nebadon, assuming the role of the Universe Mother Spirit, also referred to as the Divine Minister.

This partnership is complementary and co-dependent:

• Michael brings divine authority, personality initiative, judicial sovereignty, and the capacity for Son-bestowals.
• The Mother Spirit contributes the nurturing, sustaining, and omnipresent ministry of spiritual circuitries, mindal coordination, and angelic oversight.

II. Functions of the Mother Spirit: The Living Presence of the Infinite Spirit

Once the local universe is operational, the Divine Minister begins her direct ministry:

• She imparts the adjutant mind-spirits to the evolutionary worlds (Urantia Paper 36).
• She is the source of Holy Spirit ministry, continuously present on every inhabited world.
• She is the creator of seraphim and other spirit ministers, who function throughout the system, constellation, and universe levels.
• Her spirit presence is the ever-available nurturer, guiding human souls through intuition, courage, counsel, and worship.

Unlike Michael, who can be absent due to bestowal missions, the Mother Spirit remains constantly resident within Nebadon and maintains uninterrupted spiritual contact with all her children.

III. Universe Administration: A Sovereign Unity of Will and Wisdom

After Michael completed his seventh and final bestowal mission on Urantia (as Jesus of Nazareth), he was declared sovereign of Nebadon. At that moment, the Universe Mother Spirit voluntarily pledged eternal subordination of will, establishing a relationship not of inferiority, but of coordinated sovereignty. It is a reflection of Paradise unity: the Son rules with divine authority, while the Spirit administers with infinite love and wisdom.

This perfect coordination enables:

• A harmonious government of light and life.

• The unified mission to reveal the Universal Father to all ascending beings.

During Michael’s incarnation on Urantia, the Universe Mother Spirit sustained the spiritual circuits and mindal life across Nebadon. After his resurrection and ascension, Michael released the Spirit of Truth, a new spiritual presence that works in unison with the Holy Spirit and the Thought Adjusters. This Spirit of Truth:

• Personalizes the Son’s presence to each believer.

• Enhances the individual’s spiritual perception of truth, love, and sonship with God.

The partnership is thus magnified in human experience. While Michael reveals the truth of the Father’s love, the Divine Minister ensures constant spiritual nourishment, allowing that truth to take root and grow.

The Living Reality of Communion with God

Communion with the Universal Father is not limited to a specific time, place, or practice. It is a living relationship, a continuous and evolving awareness of divine companionship.

To commune with God is to:

Enter into stillness—to quiet the mind and listen to the indwelling spirit’s guidance.

Pray sincerely—not just to ask for help, but to seek alignment with divine will.

Live in faith—trusting that, no matter the external circumstances, one is upheld by divine love.

Act with integrity—choosing righteousness, even when it is difficult.

This communion is not passive—it transforms the soul. Those who seek the Father with sincerity begin to reflect His qualities—His love, patience, wisdom, and mercy. In their daily interactions, they become living expressions of the divine, shining lights of truth in a world still struggling with darkness.

The Richness of God

God is a universal spirit; God is the universal person. The supreme personal reality of the finite creation is spirit; the ultimate reality of the personal cosmos is absonite spirit. Only the levels of infinity are absolute, and only on such levels is there finality of oneness between matter, mind, and spirit. 1:3.6

In the universes God the Father is, in potential, the overcontroller of matter, mind, and spirit. Only by means of his far-flung personality circuit does God deal directly with the personalities of his vast creation of will creatures, but he is contactable (outside of Paradise) only in the presences of his fragmented entities, the will of God abroad in the universes. This Paradise spirit that indwells the minds of the mortals of time and there fosters the evolution of the immortal soul of the surviving creature is of the nature and divinity of the Universal Father. But the minds of such evolutionary creatures originate in the local universes and must gain divine perfection by achieving those experiential transformations of spiritual attainment which are the inevitable result of a creature’s choosing to do the will of the Father in heaven. 1:3.7

In the inner experience of man, mind is joined to matter. Such material-linked minds cannot survive mortal death. The technique of survival is embraced in those adjustments of the human will and those transformations in the mortal mind whereby such a God-conscious intellect gradually becomes spirit taught and eventually spirit led. This evolution of the human mind from matter association to spirit union results in the transmutation of the potentially spirit phases of the mortal mind into the morontia realities of the immortal soul. Mortal mind subservient to matter is destined to become increasingly material and consequently to suffer eventual personality extinction; mind yielded to spirit is destined to become increasingly spiritual and ultimately to achieve oneness with the surviving and guiding divine spirit and in this way to attain survival and eternity of personality existence. 1:3.8

I come forth from the Eternal, and I have repeatedly returned to the presence of the Universal Father. I know of the actuality and personality of the First Source and Center, the Eternal and Universal Father. I know that, while the great God is absolute, eternal, and infinite, he is also good, divine, and gracious. I know the truth of the great declarations: “God is spirit” and “God is love,” and these two attributes are most completely revealed to the universe in the Eternal Son.

In Urantia Paper 1, Section 3, particularly paragraphs 6 through 8, we are offered a profound and layered understanding of the nature of God as both universal spirit and universal person. God is not simply a cosmic force or distant abstraction; He is both spirit in essence and a personality in experience. “God is a universal spirit; God is the universal person.” These twin truths form the foundation of all meaningful relationship with the Divine.

The text explains that in the finite realm, the supreme expression of personality is spirit. In the absonite realm—that level of reality transcending time and space but not yet absolute—the ultimate reality of personality is also spirit, but of a higher, more refined order. Only on the absolute level, in the realm of infinity, is there a perfect unification of matter, mind, and spirit. In this way, God contains and surpasses all levels of reality, and only at the divine level are these aspects completely harmonized.

God, as the Universal Father, is the overcontroller of matter, mind, and spirit, but He exercises this sovereignty in a way that respects the free will of His creatures. In the universes of time and space, God interacts directly with personal beings through His personality circuit, a divine means of sustaining contact with all will creatures. However, He is personally contactable only through His spirit fragments, known as Thought Adjusters—the “will of God abroad in the universes.” These indwelling spirits are of divine origin and lead mortals toward truth, beauty, and goodness. They guide the soul’s growth, nurturing it through evolutionary experience toward fusion with the divine.

The human mind, originating in the local universes, is material in association but spiritual in potential. To survive death, this mind must become spiritually transformed. This transformation is not automatic; it requires a conscious decision—a persistent effort to do the will of the Father in heaven. This is the essential formula for soul evolution: mind, guided by spirit, choosing God’s will. The result of this cooperation between mortal will and divine guidance is the emergence of the morontia soul—an intermediate and immortal form of personality that survives physical death.

In the human experience, mind is joined to matter, and unless transformed, this material-linked mind does not survive death. Survival requires a God-consciousness that leads to being spirit-taught and ultimately spirit-led. This transformation causes the potentially spiritual aspects of mortal mind to be converted into morontia realities, the building blocks of the immortal soul. If the human mind remains subservient to matter and rejects spirit influence, it becomes increasingly materialistic, leading eventually to personality extinction. But a mind yielded to spirit becomes increasingly spiritual and is destined to achieve eternal unity with the indwelling divine spirit, ensuring the eternal survival of personality.

The section concludes with a personal testimony from the divine author of this paper, who says: “I come forth from the Eternal, and I have repeatedly returned to the presence of the Universal Father.” This is a statement of direct experience with the First Source and Center. This being declares not only the absoluteness and infinity of God but also His goodness, divinity, and graciousness. The affirmation, “God is spirit” and “God is love,” is not only doctrinal—it is a lived, eternal truth. These two divine attributes are most fully revealed in the Eternal Son, the perfect spiritual reflection of the Universal Father.

This passage offers a sublime vision of the human-divine relationship: God, as infinite spirit and universal person, dwells within us, calling us forward into transformation. Through conscious cooperation with the divine will, we can survive, ascend, and eternally grow. The journey begins with the decision to follow the Father—and ends in eternal service, love, and light.
